Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the new Parliament House, Sengol installation!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Parliament House built as part of the Central Vista project on Sunday morning amidst chanting of mantras.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Chairman of Tata Trust Ratan Tata, Union Minister HS Puri, Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker Harivansh and various religious leaders including Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of many states were present at the 'Sarva Dharma Pratriya' ceremony held at the New Parliament House.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received blessings from many pontiffs before installing the historic 'Sengol' at the new Parliament House.
After the Pooja procedures were over, the much-talked about scepter 'Sengol' was handed over to Prime Minister Modi by various states of Tamil Nadu. The Prime Ministers, who received the blessings of the Blessed One, prostrated before it. Later, with the holy scepter, Modi took Sengol to the new Parliament House in a procession amidst the chanting of Nadaswara and Vedic mantras.
In the Lok Sabha hall, the scepter was installed on the right side of the Speaker's chair in a special enclosure along with Speaker Om Birla. He officially launched the inauguration of the new Parliament House by lighting the Jyothi kept there.
The same Sengol was received by India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on the night of 14 August at his residence in the presence of several leaders.
